In honor of World Kidney Day, the National Kidney Foundation of Southern California hosted the media event "KEEP it Hollywood". KEEP (pre-Kidney Early Evaluation Program) promotes early detection of kidney diseases by having a finger prick, a blood pressure cuff, and a health question mini-station for each. This event raises awareness for this harmful, yet treatable, disease. Kidney disease has affected 26 million Americans, thus far, and this event celebrates those individuals who are living with kidney disease as well as those who are actively doing research to find a cure. The national spokespeople for the National Kidney Foundation, George and Ann Lopez, were on hand with such celebrities as Melora Hardin, Adrian Grenier, and Eva La Rue.
