Recently on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Katy Perry appeared as the guest to premiered her new music video for “The One That Got Away,” and also announced some pretty exciting news.
On November 22, Perry is performing a sold-out concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and has decided to schedule another day of the concert, but there’s a twist — it will be free! On November 23, the day after her sold-out show, will be the “Katy Perry Gives Thanks” show, thanking her fans for their support throughout her busy year. She has felt such a connection with her fans this year that she has decided to give back to them by renting out the Staples Center herself, to perform for her fans at zero charge.
The free concert will be the last concert of her California Dreams tour; before the concert on the 22nd, she will have played 121 shows, completing the tour’s cycle at 123 total shows, certainly not a small number to say the least.
This year, Perry has been nominated for three American Music Awards, four Grammys, and, in addition to the tour that is coming to an end, she has been nominated for seven People’s Choice Awards.
In addition to announcing the news of the free concert, Perry also talked about the possibility of starting a family with her actor-comedian husband Russell Brand, after celebrating their one-year anniversary recently. Although, this pop star has also stated that they will not be jumping too quickly into starting a family, since both Perry and Brand’s careers are continuing to escalate.
