Fans nationwide have more to rejoice about this morning than just the Women's Gymnastics team winning Gold at the Olympics -- Justin Bieber, perhaps the biggest popstar in the world right now, has finally released the music video for his newest single “As Long As You Love Me”!
The nearly six minute long music video should be more correctly categorized as a short film, seeing as it is almost epic in cinematography and portrays the ages-old story of forbidden love.
This didn’t happen by itself, mind you; the Biebs himself collected a bevy of the entertainment elite to assist in this blockbuster of a music video.
“As Long As You Love Me” was directed by Anthony Mandler, who has directed vids for the likes of industry icons such as Drake, Nicki Minaj, Lana Del Rey, Usher, Cheryl Cole, and Rihanna (just to name a few).
The video starts off with Justin confronting a bitter, hateful man – played by Michael Madsen of Kill Bill – who in turn tells him that his love affair with his teenage daughter is strictly off limits.
The video is a sweet yet dark ode to teenage love, as it showcases the relationship that Justin and 21 Jump Street actress Chanel Celaya are so willing to run away for. With this timeless message of illicit love, some killer choreography mixed in, and an on-point verse from collaborator G.O.O.D. Music’s Big Sean, this video is surely one that will be played over and over again for years to come.
Don’t believe in Justin’s artistry just yet? Then watch the music video for yourself and you will surely be a Belieber in no time!
