His solid, innate comedic timing, amiable underdog persona and quirky expressions are just a couple of reasons why Mr. Jason Biggs was catapulted into super stardom so quickly. In 1999, Jason Biggs was a relatively unknown actor before his breakthrough role as Jim Levinstein in the teen summer comedy, American Pieù which brought him a handful of nominations that included two MTV Movie Award nominations for Best Comedic Performance and Best Male Breaththrough Performance. Though America fell in love with Jason after laughing hysterically at him on American Pieù, some would be surprised to find out that he had been pursuing acting professionally since his childhood. In fact, it was his mother who prompted her youngsters to dabble into commercials and modeling in an effort to save money for college tuition. Therefore, at the age of 5, she had him registered with a modeling agency and it wasn't long before Jason was working. At the tender age of 13, he had his television debut in the short-lived Fox network series, Drexell's Classù. Soon after that very same year, Biggs debuted on Broadway in Conversations with My Fatherù, which proved to make his transition into the daytime soap opera As the World Turns,ù effortless. In 1997, he attended New York University for a short stint before landing yet another short lived television series, Camp Stories.ù However, after 1999 and his smash hit movie, his presence has not been missed in the cinema or theatre for that matter. Since 2000, Biggs returned to Broadway to star in the stage adaptation of The Graduateù with Alicia Silverstone, starred in Jersey Boysù with Liv Tyler, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez and appeared as himself on the TV reality series, Blowin Upù. You'll be sure to see him this year in How I Met My Boyfriend's Dead Fianceù, The Wedding Dazeù and The Pleasure of Your Company.ù Young Hollywood may have never heard of Jason Biggs if his mother, Angela didn't coax him into auditioning for commercials at a young age in fear of not being able to pay for his college tuition. Heck, the way that it's going, he'll be able to pay for college for the entire Biggs' family and then some. Tags: Jason Biggs American Pie
