Like many, you may have swooned over Jared Padalecki in Gilmore Girls. The boy next door is all grown up, gotten buff and kicks the crap out of spooks.

Hailing from Texas, Jared got into acting at a young age. At 12-years-old, he started his study of the craft, getting his first big break with Gilmore Girls in 2000 (just six years later).

As Sam Winchester in the CW's Supernatural, he took a chance on TV with something new and different. The show became in instant hit. Sometimes it pays to take a gamble!

With another scary flick, House of Wax, behind him, Jared is fast becoming the biggest and brightest star in the genre, a scram king if you will. His new film dips back to old school terror; famed horror director Marcus Nispel's reboot of Friday the 13th.

The cult classic is already one of the hottest threads in fan forums online. It's pretty much destined to become one of the scare flicks of a generation.

Even if you're scared of things that go bump in the night, Jared has the calm and brawn to make one feel safe in a dark theatre. There may be just as many girls in the seats and us boys! It's about time those fright fests featured a little something for everyone.
