Jack White Still Solo... For Now

There has been some speculation in the blogosphere and music mags that Jack White was collaborating with Radiohead on a new project. Unfortunately, the news has proven to be too good to be true. While Radiohead did record at Jack White’s recording studio, Third Man, he was not involved in the English rock band’s new tracks or even their producer. Bummer.
However, the front man of The White Stripes still seems busy as ever, despite the band’s breakup in February of 2011. He released his first solo album Blunderbuss this past April, which he wrote, recorded, and produced entirely himself. In an interview with Rolling Stone, White discussed the intimacy and independence of the project: "I've put off making records under my own name for a long time, but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas."
As per usual, we can expect nothing but the best from White, being that Blunderbuss is the biggest selling vinyl album of the year. It also reached #1 on five national charts, including the U.S. Billboard 200 and U.K. Albums chart. White’s acute attention to detail, eclectic sound and persona, as well as effortless confidence, have produced great work; but, in my opinion, White center stage in Blunderbuss might be the very best of this "Jack of all trades".
Check out two of my favorite songs from the album, "Sixteen Saltines" and "Love Interruption", below:
