Into the Pride

I always wonder why more animal shows aren't about the cute, cuddly kind. They're always pulling death-defying stunts - like living alongside lions in Namibia. True story, big-cat expert Dave Salmoni does just that by going Into the Pride, an Animal Planet series that pits man against animal.

The obvious question is: WHY?!?

In this case, a pride of lions is in danger of being euthanized because they've notoriously harassed people on the lands. In order for them to survive, they have to learn to co-exist with humans.

Amazingly, Dave {also the host of Predator Versus Prey and After the Attack volunteered to pack up and see if he could have a positive impact on the lions, giving them one last chance.

Over the course of his visit, cameras crews captured an amazing journey and incredible interactions unlike anything ever seen with big cats. Also, a few close calls were caught on film. There were several times he was charged by lions, stranded in the wild. Dave was able to shake them off by waving a big stick and yelling to startle them. Most people would crap themselves and prepare to die. That's why we watch it on TV.

People always say they hate spoilers, so you'll have to do just that for the end of this tail.

Into the Pride airs Thursdays at 8PM e/p on Animal Planet.
