HOT APPS: GamePigeon
Written by Amanda Baltazar

Probably one of the more ingenious app ideas to come to iMessage is GamePigeon.

It’s name really explains it all. The app allows iPhone users on iMessage to send their contacts various games to play via iMessage on their phones! The game shows up right in the text message app ready to play!

The app is more like an extension of text messaging instead of its own app -- you access through your text messages. With the iOS 10, download the app and tap on the “Apps” icon in the middle of the camera and heart icon (to the left) and the area for typing text (to the right), and that will take you to the various games they have available.

They have over 15 games to play, including Checkers, Tanks, Chess, Sea Battle, Shuffleboard, Four In A Row, and, my personal addiction, 8 Ball.

With that kind of variety, everyone is sure to find a game that they will like, and it makes texting and messaging so much more fun and exciting. I was excited when we got new emojis, but this iMessage app extension has me flying off the handle.

It’s simple and fun and its EVERYTHING!

Try it, I dare you. I dare you not to get addicted to pool. And when you have a friend who is actually good at responding (rare, I know), you’ll probably be on your phone for the next few hours. I even have friends placing friendly wagers on their virtual game of pool. You know, just in case we needed another reason to be on our phones.

They even have Texas Hold’em-style Poker as a game where you can place bets just like in real life.

Legitimately the most fun I’ve ever had texting someone. Go ahead. Download it. Trust me. You won’t regret it.

I’ll be waiting for your text...
