Hollywood babes like Ashley Tisdale are often spotted hitting the gym, looking fresh and fabulous. Here’s how you can get the drop on looking good, even in a dead sweat.

Gym-goers listen up:  Elizabeth TenHouten is back with even more beauty tips, this time for a superstar workout!

Firstly, make sure you’ve got the right gear. Pack up your gym bag with a towel, travel-size body wash for the shower and some active wear, plus these other essentials:

* “Sunscreen is the strongest anti-aging cream out there,” Elizabeth says. “You need not spend a fortune on facial products. Sunscreen with an SPF of 30 is perfect.” Keep a separate bottle stocked in your gym bag to ensure you’re never without.

* “Hydration is an important part of beautiful skin, so I always recommend having a bottle or container of water in your gym bag,” she advises. “This way you are certain to replenish your skin with the moisture you have expelled during your work-out.  Supple skin is beautiful and healthy.  I believe that beauty and wellness are synonymous.”

* “Another must-have is your favorite mascara and eye-lash curler,” she suggests to fellow girl-gym-goers. After a workout and shower, you can showcase your eyes with a fresh face otherwise free of makeup.

* “Also, don't forget your lip balm/chapstick.” Elizabeth chooses Blistex with SPF 15.

* Don’t forget to eat! “I am a DIY gal and I do not stop at beauty creams!” Elizabeth says. She gave us a cool green tea lotion recipe & other DIY beauty tips last time we talked. “It is best to ingest some carbohydrates before a work-out,” she advises. “You get optimum results and do not burn protein.  My favorite DIY snack is my ‘Antioxidant Trail Mix,’” which she says you can personalize with your favorite mixed nuts, dried fruit or chocolate chunks.

Elizabeth TenHouten’s DIY Antioxidant Trail Mix:

2 plain rice cakes, crumbled

8 dried apricots, chopped

1 cup golden raisins

1 cup brown raisins

1 cup raw whole almonds

½ cup walnuts

½ cup sunflower seeds

1 cup goji berries

1 ½ cups raw chocolate chips or cocoa nibs

Place all ingredients in a large bowl and stir to combine.

Lastly, after an intense workout, take advantage of the other facilities. “The steam room becomes an opportunity to release toxins through your pores for a glowing complexion,” she says.

From pre to post, tuck these gym tips away to stay beautifully fit!
