Hold On To Your Butts: 'Jurassic Park 4' A Go!

It’s really, really happening – Jurassic Park 4 is coming our way!
 
Universal Studios made it official yesterday by announcing that not only was a third sequel to the 1993 classic Jurassic Park imminent, but it even has a release date: June 13, 2014. Nothing says commitment more than actually setting a date!
 
Speculation, rumors, and false starts have abounded over the last few years in regards to a 4th installment, including the unconfirmed report that it would star Keira Knightley as a grown up Lex Murphy. Well, whatever the plot might actually entail (details from the script co-written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver have yet to surface), we can all rest easy that this flick will be in good hands – original director Steven Spielberg will be producing, along with his usual partners in crime, Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy.
 
No director has been named yet, but with Spielberg on board, we all know what the score will be. Here’s hoping for the triumphant return of Dr. Ian Malcolm!
 
In the meantime, you can whet your dino-appetites later this spring when the original Jurassic Park is re-released in April in glorious 3D. Imagine – T-Rexes, velociraptors, and Samuel L. Jackson, all comin’ at ya!!!
