Harrison Ford Confirmed to Return as Han Solo!

A couple weeks ago, we informed you of the possible Star Wars spin-offs that Disney has in the works. Now, one of those spin-offs has become closer to a reality as Harrison Ford has reportedly agreed to reprise his role as Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode VII!

The news came as a surprise to many Star Wars fans, as Ford has been known for trying to break free of his role as the smuggler who made the Kessel Run in less than 12-parsecs, even mentioning “they should have killed Han Solo off” during a 2010 interview.

Ford went on to say he didn’t think there was a way to “weave” Solo back in to any future films. So, when the news broke that the deal is done and Ford will reprise his role, Star Wars fan everywhere rejoiced. However, the question now is, what role will Han Solo play in the new franchise?

According to reports, Ford will be back for a “significant role”, meaning that he won’t just appear as a cameo in some random old-folks home in Galactic City. Speculation states that the film will include a gracefully-aged Han Solo and Princess Leia as parents introducing us to their children Jaina, Jacen, and Anakin Solo, further developing the Star Wars universe and giving Disney opportunities for future spin-off and installments.

Though no one knows for sure what story or timeline Disney is planning to follow for the new films, they have dropped hints about other chapters in the saga, including, one film just revolving around Han Solo set between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope.

Again, no one is sure what it could be about, but I for one would like it to be on the Kessel Run showing how he did an 18-parsecs trip in 12. Maybe throw in a little back story with Jabba the Hutt, his awesome, smooth friend Lando, and just how he won the Millennium Falcon. Sure, die-hard fans like me already know the answers and story to all of the above by reading the comics and books, but I think it would make great movie material and would love to see it on the big screen.

The only question is now is… who would play the young Han Solo?
