2) Fashion icon and SNL target Donatella Versace. I picked celebrity makeup artist James Kaliardos to illustrate this costume because he's absolutely hilarious. Required: Extra long blonde wig parted in the middle, ultra tight strapless dress and a tan.

3) The Olsen Twins. Required: Long blonde wig, massive sunglasses, leggings, clunky shoes, bohemian tops.

4) Biggest guy costume is just as predictable as Palin: Heath Ledger's Joker. Required: Purple jacket, sloppy makeup.

5) If you really want to go all out with the movie hero theme, Iron Man is your best bet. For a comedic twist, a buddy of mine is going as a pooftah version wearing brightly colored spandex and carrying around a flat iron and a curling iron. Get it? Hilarity will ensue.

6) Michael Phelps. For the more daring. Required: Olympic gold bling (any gold medallions on a string will do), blue speedo, short or buzzed dark hair.

7&8) Classic character faves are Freddy and Jason, natch. Required: hockey mask and a hatchet or red striped sweater and hand-claw glove thing (available in every Halloween store across the nation).
