Green Fashion Keeps You Stylish and Eco-Friendly!

It seems that everywhere you go nowadays, the word “organic” is never far behind you. Celebs have been on the organic bandwagon (with that wagon being made from 100% organic materials, of course!) for years now and can be seen at Whole Foods or the local farmer’s market on any given day. Now we all know the benefits of eating organic, but what about the benefits of wearing organic?

Let’s go down the list:

You don’t like allergies, do you? Of course not! Organic clothing is free from synthetic fibers, dyes, chemicals, and other additives that processed clothing may contain and is dramatically less likely to irritate your skin.

What about pollution? Like all environmentally-conscious people, you don’t want to taint what’s left of Mother Earth’s fresh air, am I right? Glad you mentioned it, because organic materials are grown sans toxins, herbicides, and pesticides, which reduces the amount of chemicals and toxins released into the Earth. Score one for Earth Day!

And if you’re concerned about your skin’s well-being as well as Mother Earth’s well-being, you’re probably just as concerned about the labor force’s well-being. Fear not, because the Global Textile Standard requires that employees cannot be underage, must have fair wages and working hours and must work in safe, humane working conditions.

Oh, and A-Listers like Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, Alicia Silverstone, Anne Hathaway, and Jennifer Aniston (just to name a few) have all been spotted proudly rocking green fashion. What more incentive do you need?

Although organic clothing is becoming more popular and easier to grab a hold of, it still can be difficult to find. But with this wonderful little invention called the Internet, you’re one click away from organically making over your wardrobe (and just in time for those cute back-to-school outfits)! Here are some organic clothing companies worth taking a peak at:

Fashion & Earth: Organic clothing and bedding for the entire family
People Tree: Women’s organic clothing website based out of the U.K.
Vibe & High: Clothing startup from Newport Beach, California, all about good times and sunshine!
GGO Finer Organic Clothiers: High-end design for fashionably eco-friendly men and women

Now that you have the facts and the resources, go out and rock that organic clothing, young Hollywood!
