| Getting Involved: Declare Yourself |
|
People assume that when you live in L.A. every weekend is spent at some fabulous Hollywood Hills home partying with the beautiful people. This much is true. When there's a good cause involved, there's all the more reason to party. Natch, with the big election coming up and massive conventions to rally the red and the blues, Declare Yourself is on the scene promoting the empowerment of voting in this and every election. A swanky, modern home with music by DJ Clubber Bang (a regular feature at Hyde) the Red White and Blue Summer Oasis kicked off a hot party last weekend to get everyone involved. It was fabulous. Celebs and industry folk mingled, did the red carpet, and posed with the Declare Yourself Convertible Vintage Cougar to show our support to the cause. Now I'm doing my part by spreading the word. I'm not going to pepper the message with my personal proclivities or dare to suggest how you should vote. Only that you should vote. To do that, all you need to do is register. Yes, you can do it online! Like right now. The upcoming election isn't just about our next president. In every state, in each county even, there are different measures on the ballot that will affect you directly. You should know about that stuff. It makes great party conversation. People will think you're totally deep. If you're already registered (gold star!), you can hop on DeclareYourself.com and join their social network, interact with other members, add your comments on the blog and even volunteer for the street team in your area. Just like in the Olympics, the baton is being passed to you right now. I challenge you to Declare Yourself. So go on superstar, get political and stuff! Word.
