From Hollywood to Haiti-"There Will Be Blood"

To quote the name of an Oscar favorite a few years ago, Haitians are assured that there will be Hollywood blood coming their way.

The "Music Saves Lives" campaign sponsored by Monster Energy Drink provided the last gasp of NON Oscar related parties in LA last Thursday night, February 27. Appropriately, the party took place at h.wood, in the same complex as this Sunday's Oscars.

"Music Saves Lives" made its 5th annual plea to the scene"" donate blood.

The call arrived loud and clear this year with the increased needs in Haiti, (and now Chile), as well as the US blood banks. Kristin Cavallari answered the call. She gave blood herself at the Hollywood blood truck, and Carmen Electra was the first to arrive to the soiree. On the day that that she lost their job on "Dancing with the Stars", Lacey Schwimmer was still in a giving mood. It was not awkward with the suddenly ex-coworkers Cheryl Burke and Derek Hough (pictured at right), who apparently survived the firing squad that also took down Karina Smirnoff.

Socialite Courtenay Semel looked like she might have donated blood through her face (involuntarily) as she sported a fashionable, but prominent forehead bandage at the party.

Paul Palacios told Young Hollywood "We're aiming for 100,000 pints of donated blood, and we'll be collecting it at concerts across the country this summer."
