May I be so bold as to proclaim Fringe as the best new show on TV? Yes, why thank you. Though it's not for the faint of heart, as in one startling scene they attached a crude probe to dead girl's eye and electrically scanned it to witness the last thing she'd seen before her death. The show is one long mad science experiment. It only gets more bizarre from there. There are so many things to love about Fringe, from its sci-fi roots to an all grown up Joshua Jackson and his genius yet maniacal father, played by scarily good John Noble. They score as a dysfunctional yet loving father son team, reunited after seventeen years when strange happenings alert the FBI to a greater pattern of danger. Because this is a J.J. Abrams show, mystery is stamped over everything. So far, all I know for sure is that the father figure is more likened to Dr. Frankenstein than your primary HMO. And yet he's so likeable, funny even! After being institutionalized for seventeen years, he and his son are recruited by a hot FBI agent - the three have been tapped to uncover the truth behind recent events of unexplained phenomena, which has so far have circled back to the fringe science experiments crazy old doctor dad performed back in the day. There's a complex web that's slowly untangling. I'm just happy to be along for the ride.
