Ermagerd, Bertes Merterl!!!!!! (<- that’s still funny, right? Whatever…)

 

POINT IS, you guys, the first promo/trailer/featurette has been released for A&E’s “Bates Motel”, and it has got me absolutely STUPID with excitement! I really didn’t know what to expect from those creepy teaser trailers, but now a clearer picture is being painted for us, and I am liking what I am seeing!

 

In addition to footage from the actual show, we get some thoughts and comments from the cast and crew as well, including stars Freddie Highmore and Vera Farmiga as well as executive producer Carlton Cuse.

 

I have to admit, all my Psycho-loving life, I’ve occasionally tried to imagine what Norman Bates must have been like in high school. He almost certainly went, and I always wondered how he interacted with his peers (if at all), how he dressed, what his grades were like, etc. And from what I can tell so far, this show will not be too off the mark from what I had pictured in my head! Nice!

 

Also, it seems as if my initial assumption that the show would be playing up the Oedipal aspects of Norman’s relationship with his mother appear to be very much the case, judging by the few quick clips here of Norman awkwardly ogling Norma (ew). Scandalous!
