It’s officially Oscar Season, and now that the nominations have been announced and the whole world is catching Oscar Fever, it’s time for host Seth MacFarlane to start practicing his funny to warm the traditionally frosty and temperamental Academy Awards audience!

 

ABC has just released a series of 5 promos featuring the new host, flexing his comedic muscles and giving us a little taste of what we might expect when he takes the stage in the toughest room in town on February 24. So far so good, I say, but it’s hard to tell at this point if his often off-color brand of humor will be a hit in front of a live audience or not. Comedians historically do well on the Oscar stage, but usually those who have hefty film cred. TV comedians, on the other hand, have often been left with their tails between their legs (David Letterman, Jon Stewart… nuff said). We shall see!
