Everything We Know About "American Horror Story" Season 8 (So Far)!

For "American Horror Story" fans, the past week or so has been an exciting one. A recent panel conversation with "AHS" creator Ryan Murphy and many "AHS" regulars like Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters has revealed some info about the new season. Here’s what we know so far!

Season 8 will start filming mid-June of this year. "AHS" has a tradition of airing in the Fall, just in time for Halloween, so we can expect a premiere in just a couple more months!

Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Billie Lourd, Kathy Bates, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, Adina Porter, and Leslie Grossman will all be back for Season 8! The show wouldn't be the same without them tbh. Kathy Bates hasn't been on AHS since Season 6, so it’s nice to know she’ll be back. Billie Lourd has only been in one season so farm but she played such a good role so well that she feels like she’s been there all along. Some newcomers include Joan Collins, a legendary actress who will be playing Evan Peters's grandmother. Murphy also wants Anjelica Huston, aka Morticia Addams, to join in but she hasn't been officially cast yet. It definitely seems like she would fit right into this creepy universe.

There’s no specifics on any characters yet, but we do know Evan Peters will get to play a lighter character for once. Murphy revealed that Peters will be playing a comical hairdresser in Season 8, and will style his grandmother’s hair at least once, as any hairdresser with a grandmother should. No one else’s roles have been revealed, but we know that Sarah Paulson will be wearing “dental appliances”, which I can only guess means scary-looking teeth.

Now what we’ve all been waiting for: the season is rumored to be called "American Horror Story: Radioactive". This theme has been discussed for a while amongst fans, but Murphy hasn’t officially confirmed this as the title. We do know that it will be set in the near future, about eighteen months from now. With that in mind, some fans are guessing it could take place after nuclear destruction, maybe in a nuclear fallout shelter. Ever since "Asylum" had that weird alien arc, I’ve been waiting to see a season with aliens, and something tells me this season might have an element of that as well. While he didn't reveal the title, Murphy did say that this season will be “heightened” in the "Asylum" and "Coven" vein. Last season, "Cult", was more grounded in reality, so expect the surreal and even supernatural elements that made "Asylum" and "Coven" two of the scariest and most interesting seasons.

Finally, Murphy revealed that it won’t be the crossover season that fans have been waiting for, where all the little connections between seasons like "Murder House" and "Coven" will be actually turned into a connected story. However, since it’s the first season to be set in the near future, I’m willing to bet there will be Easter eggs and connections to past seasons. Once filming starts in June, we may get more information on this upcoming season, and last year the intro teaser was released in August, so we’ll definitely know more soon. For now, we’ll have to stick with these small tidbits to tide us over as we wait for news of more (radio)activity!
