I think it's safe to say: Young Hollywood loves Estelle!Her new single, American Boy,' features Kanye West. The two fuse together to create something best described as Soul-Rap-Disco. Hot!If that's not reason enough to get your grove on, something might be wrong with your ears. CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?!?Oh, wait. Right.Anyway, Eestelle is the deal. That's my point. I do have one!Born in London, her parents hail from West Africa and the Caribbean. Maybe her culturally diverse upbringing explains her eclectic mix of style -- from Rap, Hip hop, R&B and Soul.An exotic beauty, she has also been outspoken in the past about the blondification (my word, not hers) of the music industry. In essence, she feels most of the record labels seem to want sexed up, blonde white girls on the album cover, still shying away from ethnic acts -- especially solo female artists. I can't say I disagree with her, it seems like a lot of these girls go through some type of makeover machine and they all come out looking the same. Nobody has to worry about that with Estelle. She's true to herself.She runs her own record label, Stellar Ents, and has released her own mixtapes and singles. She's now with Atlantic. The album, Shine, has the golden touch of mega-producers like of Will.I.Am, and Wyclef Jean, Mark Ronson, Cee-Lo, Swizz Beatz, and John Legend.You can see why she's been featured on Young Hollywood in The Scene and here in What's Hot.
