Easy Valentine's Day How-Tos!

Now that the Super Bowl is over, time to turn our attention to the next National Holiday -- Valentine’s Day! It's only a week away, and if you still haven't planned anything, don't sweat it! There's still time to plan something special yet simple to show how much you care about that person. Here are a few ideas to help you get started...

Make your sweetie a playlist of all your favorite love songs. For those Classic Rock lovers out there, we suggest Aersomith’s "I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing"; it’s a classic power ballad featuring a much softer-toned Steven Tyler backed up with epic guitar instrumentals. For the Pop lovers, consider including Rachel Platten’s "Stand By You"; it features her soothing vocals backed up with upbeat music. For those who like a combination of soul and rhythm & blues, we recommend Ben King’s "Stand By Me", which features King’s raspy voice emoting about being there for your loved one no matter what. For those who are fans of hip-hop, try Lil Wayne’s "I Want You", featuring some beatboxing about yearning to be with that special someone.

Plan a romantic Valentine’s Day picnic. You can even make it Valentine's Day themed by adding a pop of red somewhere (strawberries, tomatoes, etc). Just remember to include some of your significant other's faves; perhaps even something from your first date? Remember, it's the thought that counts!

If you’re into arts and crafts, make your own Valentine’s Day card. Don’t just go and buy a random card in a drug store. Take your time picking out the perfect card for that perfect someone and then personalize it with a message. If you are into arts and crafts and have more time on your hands, why not actually make your loved one a homemade card? Cut out a heart and write a personalized message to them, or piece a collage of all the fun times you’ve spent with that person. The more personal it feels, the more it'll be appreciated!

For those who are in a long distance relationship, you can still plan something special! Text your loved one a cute meme or a picture of yourself (preferably PG-rated, but hey, it's your day!). Or you can even have a Facetime date with your loved one -- light candles around the room you’re situated in to give it in a more romantic atmosphere and to give the appearance that you’re on a date. Thanks to technology, you never really have to miss a Valentine's Day even if you're far apart.

You don't have to spend a ton of cash or pull your hair out to have the perfect Valentine's Day; just keep it simple and special!
