Donnie Klang: So good, Diddy made him go solo! I've been something of a reality junkie ever since the very first Real World on MTV. Of course I'm barely old enough to remember. I watched from the womb." I digress. Reality TV has evolved since back in the day. It's come a long way, baby. With Making the Band, MTV scored a hit by pitting cast members against one another in the more contemporary reality versus game show spin on the genre." "
This allows producers to shake things up with surprise twists - as is the story with Donnie Klang. Just when people thought they knew the drill, everything changed. Last year, the man making the band just couldn't help but getting in the mix. When Diddy let fans of the show vote for who they wanted in the band, it was generally assumed DK would make the grade. As the group members called out, views were surprised when his name was not on the list. It was even more of a twist when his name was finally called - to go solo. Diddy felt that during the competition his new solo act had showed such persistence that he had to sign him. Donnie was the only person from the show to be offered a solo contract with Bad Boy. He went straight from the tube to the recording studio, where he crafted his debut record, Just a Rolling Stone. The album is in stores now and Donnie is making the rounds to promote his solo effort.
