Last year the writer's strike almost blew the best new series on TV. Nothing against fellow citizens of the pen getting paid, obviously, but that would have made the whole thing really extra sad.

Happily, Dirty Sexy Money is back for a second season. After airing the first ten original episodes, the strike hit and one of my favorite characters was left in great pearl.

I was therefore delighted when I saw the lovely Candis Cayne at the season two premiere party downtown at the Edison. Fortune drifted an invite my way (thanks, Chris!) and the party was upscale classy with a dirty twist. Candis and I spoke and she's thrilled to be back!

Although she isn't dead, she has been taken captive. Oh yes, they're going for the drama. And I love it! It's like Dallas or Dynasty, except better.

At the party I managed to meet most of the cast, including William Baldwin, Natalie Zea, Seth Gabel and Blair Underwood - all of whom were simply charming! And gorgeous. They smelled good too. Not that I purposefully sniff celebrities, I just notice things.

The series revolves around the uber-rich Darling family, an absurdly wealthy clan with their fair share of problems. And that's being really, really nice. They're not horrible people, but they are in league with some shady characters.

Throw an idealistic lawyer (yes, they make those!) into the mix and you've got a show with premise.

But is it really possible to keep a high-profile family name scandal free? Ask a Kennedy!

The original ten are on a DVD set (new eps start Oct. 1), plus you can watch full episodes online for free. That's pretty sweet!

Invite the Darlings over to your place and get ready for the sparks to fly!
