Did Kutcher Get The 'jOBs' Done?

When we first heard the news, we were like “Whaaa??” Then we saw the first pics, and we were like, “Oooooh!” But then a clip was released, and we were like, “Ummmm…”
Suffice it to say, reaction has been decidedly mixed about the Steve Job biopic, jOBS, starring Ashton Kutcher. After the film had its premiere at Sundance last week, the verdict has been… muddled. Everyone seems to agree on one thing: Kutcher nails it physically. But when it comes to stuff like an actual performance and historical accuracy, the mood seems to shift on an hourly basis.
Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has publicly declared that events portrayed in the film are, simply, “totally wrong”. Indeed, Hollywood biopics have never been known to be sacrosanct, but considering this was based on an authorized biography of Jobs, one would think a little more effort would be made to get the facts straight. Granted, I have not seen the whole film aside from the clip released last week – and neither had Wozniak – so maybe it’s too early to rush to conclusions. But when someone who was actually there says NOPE, then it makes you wary.
Nevertheless, one might find the actual appeal of this film in Kutcher’s performance; let’s face it, he’s not exactly known for playing it straight. Being able to physically embody a well-known public figure is one thing (as evidenced by the above photo, a side-by-side comparison of Kutcher in full Older Jobs make-up next to Actual Older Jobs), but does he also have the acting chops to make us forget he’s Ashton Kutcher? We shall see!
In the meantime, check out the aforementioned clip below and tell us what you think!
