Dev Shines "In the Dark"

If you love sensation songs “Bass Down Low” and “Like a G6,” you may want to check out the latest album by Dev. Having only released her first single, “Bass Down Low”, in December, the young artist is climbing in popularity and success. The 22-year-old released her newest album, The Night the Sun Came Up, earlier this week, with favorites like “Bass Down Low” and “In the Dark” included as tracks... but not everything on the album is upbeat. The new album has given her a chance to show her range with songs like “Getaway,” “Kiss My Lips,” “Me,” and “In My Trunk.” In the past, Dev has worked with Travis Barker, Timbaland, 50 Cent, Usher, and Far East Movement.

Dev has been getting some radio time, too, as her single “In the Dark” sits the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week at number 18 (as of this writing), even higher up than last week. It's no wonder, what with its catchy lyrics, especially the chorus. But critics have had mixed reactions to the video; while some are saying that the lyrics and video are cliché, another critic said Dev is just the right amount of sexy to be popular, without going over-the-top. The budding vocal artist is singing a whole different tune lately. Dev (born Devin Star Tailes) is currently pregnant with a baby girl. She and her boyfriend Jimmy are excited to bring her into the world.
