Its official – Fairy tales do indeed come true! This summer will see Christian Louboutin, shoe designer extraordinaire, working alongside Walt Disney World designers to recreate a new interpretation of the infamous Cinderella glass slipper. The new design, to be revealed this summer in honor of Walt Disney’s re-release of Cinderella on Blu-ray will be bestowed with the designer’s own personal ‘magic touch.’ This collaboration highlights the incredible influence Disney seemingly has on fashion trends across the globe.
From Disney-inspired apparel -- think couture collections from Sue Wong’s Walt Disney Signature Collection and swimwear from Tavik, to the incredible jewelry ranges of Tom Binns, inspired by Alice in Wonderland -- Disney is making its presence known. But its not only Disney’s own designs that are making headlines and being scooped up by fashionista’s everywhere. Designers and brands are flocking to dress the latest teen Disney Channel stars, as their influence on what is "cool" to wear across the teen spectrum is undeniable. With stars such as "Hannah Montana"'s Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber’s girlfriend, Disney darling Selena Gomez, influencing the fashion trends of a generation of teens and 'tweens, it is no wonder that these small screen stars are the hottest way to showcase the latest styles. So, for the best-dressed secrets around, look no further than your closest Disney Princess for inspiration – animated and real life!
