Disney has a little rocker chick in the making. Breaking big at 16, Demi Lovato is What's Hot! Camp Rock's breakout star showed she had the pipes to hold her own alongside the Jonas Brothers. The Disney channel movie was a huge hit and she went on to open for the Bros this past summer - giving her even more exposure and showcasing her piano and guitar skills onstage. She won over a huge fan following and critics adore her big voice and edgy ways. Now she's rocking out with her big debut album, Don't Forget. Natch, after getting to know the Jonas Brothers they teamed up to help her deliver a knockout album, co-writing a number of songs. If I were to write the album by myself it would probably have been a little more serious,ù she says. But I didn't want that. I wanted a fun album.ù Her first single, Get Back, delivers a solid, full-out vocal with a catchy pop-rock vibe. Total Gossip Girl or 90210 soundtrack material - and I love it! Of course little Demi has more than her music going for her. Camp Rock helped launch her into a new original series called Welcome to Holliwood. She'll play the lead, Holli, a small-town girl who comes to L.A. when she's cast in a teen sketch comedy series; the TV show within the show. But I'd expect a lot of singing in Welcome to Holliwood. Though she's making headway as a major TV star, she remains most passionate about her music. I want people to know me, and that I write about them,ù she says. I'm human; you're human, so let's relate.ù
