David Hasselhoff has done it all. If you were raised in the 70's, you'd recognize him as Dr. Snapper Fosterù from The Young and the Restlessù. If you grew up in the eighties, you would recognize him as Michael Knight from Knight Riderù or if you grew up in the 90's, you'd recognize him as Mitch Buchannon, the handsome chief lifeguard from Bay Watchù.Whatever the case maybe, it is a fact that David Hasselhoff is one of the most familiar faces on television and is paving the way for other talented folk to become a mainstay in entertainment with his hit show, America's Got Talentù. David was actually a shy, introverted, lanky little boy who fell in love with dancing, singing and acting at the tender age of 7. Though, he may have been shy in the classroom, he certainly came alive once his foot hit the stage and it was quite noticeable that he had found his calling. David's earlier experiences with musical theatre led him to believe that he was destined for Broadway, however while he was in California he inked a deal with The Young and The Restlessù and this led Mr. Hasselhoff into a whole other direction. Though David became a household name almost over night, he still never lost his love or dream of becoming a pop star. Sadly enough his dream never came true in America, but he is a smash hit over in Europe! Most people here wouldn't know the song, Looking for Freedomù; however Europeans embraced the song lovingly and it became something of an anthem for the defeat of communist regimes in Eastern Europe. Hasselhoff's Freedomù invigorated their souls and awakened their spirits. Freedomù to them was found in his music. It seems as if Michael is an inspiration to many individuals here in the States, as well as overseas. David founded the charity, Race for Life,ù which works with terminally ill and handicapped children in Indianapolis and plays a key role in Camp Baywatchù which aids in assisting disadvantaged youth in Los Angeles. Mr. Hasselhoff has fans worldwide and has said that he believes his success is derived from the fact that the camera photographs your aura and your heart.ù We, here at Young Hollywood couldn't agree more and find it refreshing to see that through it all his heart has always been in the right place.
