Danity Kane

You cant hear the phrase, making the band,ù without immediately thinking of the diva girl group that made us all fall in love with them over the course of two MTV reality series; Danity Kane took the music world by storm, and had the biggest hip hop mogul to back them.

In 2005, Bad Boy Records CEO and music mogul Diddy, Sean Combs, P Diddy (whichever name you know him by), went on the search for a super girls group by way of Making the Band 3 on MTV. Through the reality series, Diddy put the girls through many challenges to test their vocal skills, dancing skills, and getting cheesecake from Brooklyn skills don't ask.

At the end of the grewling process, Diddy found his super group. The group consisted of five beautiful and talented women: Aundrea Fimbres, Aubrey O'Day, Dawn Angelique Richard, Shannon Bex, and Wanita "D. Woods" Woodgette. After the women were chosen, Diddy embarked on one more reality series with the girls, showing America the trials and tribulations involved in putting together and keeping together a successful band. The reality show not only made America fall in love with the girls, but also really helped launch their debut album, Danity Kane.

Produced by some of the most well known and respected in the industry including Timbaland, Scott Storch and Ryan Leslie, the album sold over 90,000 copies the first day of release not too shabby. Danity Kane also debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with the albums lead single, Show Stopper.ù

Following the success of their debut album, from February to May 2007, Danity Kane was the opening act for world-renowned vocalist, Christina Aguilera.

It seems apparent that anything Diddy touches turns to gold; his record label, his clothing line, and now his girls; Danity Kane.
