Cymphonique: Carrying On the Miller Family Legacy

You know Master P (producer, singer of “Make ‘em say uhh”) and his son Romeo (rapper, USC baller), but do you know his daughter Cymphonique? (Stage name, but also her birth name!)

She is a 15-year-old actress and hip-hop/pop singer, having previously guest starred on a few teen shows like “True Jackson VP” and “Big Time Rush” where she also contributed the theme music. She has enjoyed some song play on Radio Disney and BET, a 2010 album entitled Fabulous Girls, and has toured with Ashley Tisdale, Raven-Symone, Demi Lovato, and JoJo. She has also already been nominated for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist at the BET awards!

This February, she will take another step forward, starring on Nickelodeon’s new show “How to Rock”, which is based on the book series How to Rock Braces and Glasses by Meg Haston. Cymphonique plays the lead that loses her popularity after wearing the aforementioned braces and glasses and finds a new way to express herself -- through music! A band is born. Her Website describes the series as a “relatable show for all you young fans going through the same issues, like popularity, finding yourself, dealing with friends, and even gross cafeteria food!”

Keeping in with the theme of finding yourself, Cymphonique is a partner in the clothing line Be Your Own You (BYOU), which is described as self-esteem clothing. There is also a BYOU magazine and Website that provides programs like “Heartlight Girls”, which focuses on communicating instead of just talking, and “Team Esteem”, which provides videos for girls and their parents and shares tools for dealing with peer pressure and increasing self-esteem.

(P.S. - YH caught up with the Miller family at the BMI Awards a couple years ago, where Master P promised us that Cymphonie would be the next big thing!)
