Country Music's Newest Sensation, Jana Kramer

Calling all country music fans to turn on your radio, and for all y’all "One Tree Hill" fans, I know you can’t believe it took this long for this girl’s music to hit the country stations.

Nashville-based and Michigan-bred, Jana Kramer has set the standards sky high, with model-pretty looks and a classic twangy country voice. Jana is also quite possibly the cutest country girl with some fire; she is incredibly down-to-earth and just a homey girl who loves to play the Grand Ole Opry.

“I like to get girly sometimes, but I HATE, more than anything, wearing heels. Right now, I have a hat on and no makeup. I love fishing and being outside. I’ve always been an outdoors person. Does that make me country? I don’t know. It’s just how I’ve always been. I definitely fit in here more than I fit in in Los Angeles! I’m not a girl who wears stilettos to a pool.”

This country girl is far from a one-hit wonder. With almost 200,000 Twitter followers Jana never fails to impress her fans. Her previous hit “Why Ya Wanna” perfectly described any ex-boyfriend who does not understand that it takes time to get over you. “Why you gotta, why you wanna make me keep wanting you?” Do you not just hate that? He shows up at the same café wearing your favorite shirt and leans in for a hug… Thank you for making it impossible to get over you, bud.

Anyways, where was I? Oh yeah!

Being an actress-turned-singer, Jana started off on the show "One Tree Hill" playing a firecracker named Alex Dupre, an actress who starts off causing trouble for the reputable Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush). Jana’s new hit single, "Whiskey", was performed on "One Tree Hill" in Season 8 at the notorious club Tric. Her small stage on "One Tree Hill" would not even compare to the size I am sure Jana sells out now!

Shoulda just called it like I saw it.
Shoulda just called for help and ran like hell that day.
The burning, the stinging, the high and the heat and the "left-me-wanting-more"
Feeling when he kissed me.
I shoulda just called him "Whiskey".

Who knew a boy could resemble a type of alcohol so well! We are all still waiting for the official release of her music video, and have been requesting “Whiskey” to be played on the radio weeks in advance of the official radio debut.

Jana describes her relationship with her transition to music: “I love acting, but my heart and soul is in singing. I’ve been terrified to pursue this dream because it’s so personal to me. If someone tells me they don’t like my voice, it’s a lot harder of a hit to take.” She adds, “This is what I’ve always wanted to do. I’ve wanted to do music my entire life."

It has been quite the past month for Jana -- she was nominated for three American Country Awards, including New Artist of the Year. “I woke up and my Twitter feed was blowing up. Three??? I was so happy. I don’t even care if we win. It’s one of those things just to be a part of it. I know everyone says that, and they probably don’t mean it, but I really do mean that.” I think what fans love most about Jana is the fact that she takes everything day by day and really appreciates her success. Nashville's new favorite singer-songwriter’s most recent album was released on iTunes this past June, and it made an impressive debut at #5 on the SoundScan Top Country Albums Chart, through Elektra Nashville.

“Country music is in my blood. I love country music because it tells a story, and I have a lot of stories to tell.”

Personally, being a Jana Kramer fan, I cannot wait to hear more good news for this down-home country star! She is the living proof of her favorite phrase, “Dreams really do come true.”
