Chris Pratt: Superhero?

Back in August, we delivered the news to y’all that not only was Marvel rolling out a big screen version of their Guardians of the Galaxy saga but that they had hired quirky indie director James Gunn to helm the whole deal. It’s an interesting and unorthodox mix, and it’s about to get a whole lot more so…
We have just learned that none other than Chris Pratt has been cast as the LEAD in the Guardians flick! Yes, that Chris Pratt, the same guy who plays lovable, frequently unshaven doofus Andy Dwyer on “Parks and Recreation”, will be donning the superhero garb. But hey, if Seth Rogen can do it, why not Chris?
The lead role in question will be that of Peter Quill, AKA Star-Lord, who by all accounts is apparently kind of a douche but still gets the job done for the side of Good. He leads a group of alternate-universe aliens from the future who try to fight off some other evil alien bad guys. Or something. I don’t know comics. At any rate, here are a couple sweet pics of Peter/Star-Lord:

And for all you dirty skeptics out there who don’t think Chris will be up to the task physically, I invite you to feast your eyes on the selfie below:

Suddenly we’re kinda jelly of Anna Faris.
Pratt recently appeared in Kathryn's Bigelow's Oscar-nominated Zero Dark Thirty, and from what I gather, that flick ain't so big on laughs, so there's no reason to believe that Pratt couldn't handle more serious material.
Also, we're hearing that the Guardians universe will eventually collide with The Avengers somewhere down the line, so I look forward to a quip-off between Pratt and Robert Downey Jr.
What do y’all think of Chris Pratt going all superhero on dat azz?
