Chris Colfer Gets 'Struck By Lightning'

After winning a Golden Globe last year, Chris Colfer decided to take his talent to another field of Hollywood: the silver screen.

Although Colfer only attended college for three weeks before being cast for the role of Kurt Hummel in Fox’s comedy “Glee”, he had always shown interest in school with writing stories around characters that he personally would enjoy playing the part of.

He recently announced that the film, Struck by Lightning, in which he stars in and wrote, will be ready to hit theaters in the fall. Struck by Lightning will be directed by Brian Dannelly and stars Christina Hendricks, Allison Janney, and Chris himself. The story is about a high schooler who blackmails his fellow classmates into contributing to his literary magazine, and later gets struck by lightning and killed.

But, before Struck by Lightning hits theaters, Colfer has another film to begin shooting; and you guessed it, it is another movie that he wrote himself and will be playing a supporting role in. Colfer has been keeping very quiet about any information regarding this second film but has revealed that he had to conduct research when writing the script, and that directors and producers are already attached to the new project.

Filming for Colfer’s second film is expected to begin this summer, but be sure to be on the look out for Struck by Lightning in theaters near you this fall!
