Love of family. Struggle for power. The eternal search to find a balance between one's basic needs and one's ultimate desires. These are all issues addressed in Cane, the new epic drama from CBS, which airs Tuesday nights at 10 PM et/pt.

Cane tells the story of a Cuban-American family, the Duques, who run a rum and sugar business in South Florida. The Duques must contend with local rivals, the Samuels family, and decide whether to stay in the sugar business or focus solely on rum. The show centers around Pancho Duque (Hector Elizondo), the family patriarch, and his struggle to decide where to put his focus and still take care of his family's financial needs and happiness. Pancho's family is divided when Alex (Jimmy Smits) and Frank (Nestor Carbonell) want him to make two different decisions about the business. Should he side with his son in law, Alex or his son, Frank?

If power struggles and family intrigue aren't enough to capture your interest, the cast of Cane sure will! Hector Elizondo and Jimmy Smits are highly accomplished, award winning, talented actors of the stage and screen. Most notably, Hector Elizondo has appeared in the television show, Chicago Hope and in the movie Pretty Woman. Jimmy Smits is best known for his roles on L.A. Law and NYPD Blue. He is sure to bring the same passion to his role in Cane as he did on NYPD Blue. Who can forget those steamy love scenes? Also adding spice to the cast is Michael Trevino, who plays Jimmy Smits' independent son, Jaime Vega. He is best known for his recurring role in The Riches and has had guest starring roles in several notable television series such as Cold Case and CSI:Miami. Alona Tal, who plays Jamie's loyal girlfriend, Rebecca, just completed a role last season as an aspiring demon hunter on Supernatural among other recurring and guest starring roles she has had on both American and Israeli television.

Young Hollywood is also excited to introduce relative newcomer, 29 year old Eddie Matos, who plays Pancho's youngest son, Henry. Eddie has had recurring roles on the daytime dramas General Hospital and Port Charles. He was born in Puerto Rico and moved around a lot as a kid, living in such varied places as Chile and Miami before falling in love with acting and moving to Los Angeles. He has Young Hollywood's seal of approval as one to look out for in the coming months.

Love, power, intrigue and a talented, hot cast that brings authentic Latin flavor into their roles. Who ever thought sugar cane could be so sexy?
