I hope you’ve all had a wonderful December to end 2012. I know the L.A. Clippers sure have!
LOB City -- AKA the Chris Paul-Blake Griffin combination -- have led the Clips to a franchise record of 17 straight wins, which gives them a perfect December.
Clipper fans must be proud of the amazing feats their team has accomplished. The Clippers are number one in the Western Conference and have only lost three times on the road! This is quite an accomplishment for any NBA team; just ask any coach or player.
The team’s development can be attributed to the strong leadership in Paul (point guard) and Griffin (power forward) that shows throughout the Clipper’s starting five. The Clippers’ strength also lies within their bench -- A strong bench will put any NBA team over the edge. With Matt Barnes, Lamar Odom, Ronny Turiaf, and Eric Bledsoe as second string, the Clips are in great shape. Fun Fact: Barnes, Odom, and Turiaf have all played for the L.A. Lakers. I guess these guys love it in L.A., regardless of the team they play for.
Although the Clips are looking really strong, there are many teams out there looking to take away their title. The Clippers have a tough road ahead of them -- they will take their 17-0 winning streak to Denver today (January 1) and then another game against the Warriors, who gave the Clippers their first loss of the season. How long will the Clippers be able to keep their streak? Only time will tell.
The Clippers have definitely ended the year strong and, hopefully, they can continue their streak into the New Year!
