Finally, the time has come for someone to permanently fill the coveted seat next to Kelly Ripa on ABC's "Live!". So many fought for the spot, but only one man came out on top: the one, the only Michael Strahan!
Not quite the person you were imaging? That’s okay, I don’t know if many people saw this one coming. Strahan, known for his lucrative career as a defensive end with the New York Giants, as well as his football analysis on Fox NFL Sunday, has mostly built his life around the beloved game. However, he is now taking a stab at the popular television talk show.
Over the past 2 years, the athlete has hosted alongside Kelly Ripa for a total of 20 shows. The professional chemistry between the two was obviously undeniable, since there seemed to be no real hesitation when picking Strahan as the new co-host.
Although Strahan is vastly different from "Live!" mainstay Regis Philbin, I believe that this was the right choice. With Strahan as a co-host, he might be able to pull in an entirely new demographic to the show, appealing to a younger audience and maybe even some male viewers as well. Strahan and Ripa look great together on camera, and it appears that they are genuinely fond of one another. As of this writing, they have aired 2 shows so far -- be sure to tune in to "Live!" to view this lovely duo in action, and let us know how you think Strahan is doing in his new role!
