There is no escape from the Jonas Brothers. Resistance is futile! Oh but really now ladies, let's not pretend these musical cuties don't make you, your sister, niece, cousin and your friends, giddy like little school girls. Meanwhile, the guys are keeping themselves busy just trying to copy their hair. I know it's cool to play it off like you're not crushing on them, but please! You're not fooling me so don't even try. These three are like gold for Disney right now, which has several projects in the works for the Jonas clan. This isn't a vanity project, though. In fact Camp Rock is one of the smartest re-workings of the Cinderella story I've heard of in some time. It's all about a girl who has big talent but a little budget, so she takes a job in the kitchen, along with her mother, to pay her expensive fees for the elite music camp. She lives a double life, posing as a posh camper by day to fit in with the rich girl clique, but hiding her true identity as the camp cook's daughter. It's never so much the situation, but the main character's inability to accept themselves as the person they really are that creates all the drama. Here's where price charming, aka Joe Jonas, comes in to save the day. Playing the part of the celebrity camp instructor, he overhears her singing and becomes enchanted. Natch, he sets out to find the girl behind the beautiful voice. Can they live happily ever after with a new mega hit TV movie franchise?Disney's banking on the tale; it's their first ever original movie that will also air on ABC Family and ABC.
