Melissa Rauch, mainly known for playing quirky Bernadette on the hit sitcom “Big Bang Theory”, has been added to the cast of the romantic dramedy You Are Here. The film will be “Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner’s directorial debut and tells the tale of a weatherman whose father’s death leads him and his best friend to go on a journey to find a healthy relationship. Owen Wilson is starring as the weatherman, with Zach Galifianakis as his best friend and Amy Poheler as Galifianakis’s sister. The cast also includes Laura Ramsey, Joel Gretsch, Paul Schulze, and Laura Lapkus.
Rauch will play what is described as an over-coiffed and over-dressed call girl. In addition to starring on “Big Bang Theory”, Rauch just wrapped up the indie drama In Lieu of Flowers, directed by William Savage and co-starring Spencer Grammer, Nate Corddry, and Josh Pence. Rauch is also known as the “Woman Jogger Yelling at Sydney” in the hit comedy, I Love You Man.
With nearly all of the cast now assembled, the film is scheduled to start shooting this month in North Carolina.
