Bidding Adieu to "30 Rock": So, What's Next?

Welp, today is the day, folks. After 7 consistently fantastic seasons and dominating pretty much every major awards show outside of the Oscars and Grammys since 2007, the good folks over at “TGS with Tracy Jordan” are packing it in and saying farewell to a modern television classic.

The series finale of “30 Rock” will air tonight on NBC, and with the ending of the show goes some of the most memorable characters to ever grace our TV screens. With a combined 6 Golden Globes and 14 Primetime Emmys to show for their efforts, the cast and crew will walk away knowing they done really good.

So, what next for these talented stars? As generous as Jesse Tyler Ferguson was to offer them jobs on “Modern Family” in his speech at the Golden Globes, something tells me these folks won’t have a hard time staying employed.

Mastermind Tina Fey is certainly keeping busy. In March, her romantic comedy with Paul Rudd, Admission, hits theatres, and she has reportedly been cast for a role in the upcoming Muppets sequel. She has 5 other additional projects in development as of this writing, and one can only assume that at least a couple of them will be the next big TV hit!

No need to cry for Alec Baldwin – he was a star before, during, and after “30 Rock”, so there’s no reason to think he won’t continue just being the Hollywood Alpha Male that he is. You can expect to see him appear in at least three feature films in the next year or so, including a TV movie called “The Normal Heart”, which centers on gay rights activists from the 1980s, and Blue Jasmine, a star-studded Woody Allen comedy coming out later this year.

And what of Jack McBrayer, whose role as the lovably hapless NBC Page Kenneth Parcell made him a star? The self-deprecating actor has stated that he looks forward to “clearing away Jane Krakowski’s martini glass” when he inevitably ends up waiting tables following the “30 Rock” finale. Ah, but we’re certain plenty of new opportunities will come his way. He has a couple projects in post-production now, with more surely in the pipeline. Oh, and he’s keeping the jacket.

Speaking of Jane, the former Ms. Jenna Maroney is looking forward to spending more time with her little boy, Bennett, born in 2011. She doesn't appear to have any other film or TV projects on the docket, so it's possible she'll be concentrating on her adorable little family for now. Or, there's a good chance she could be returning to her first love, the theatre, sometime soon! In the meantime, those Tropicana Trop50 commercials seem to be doing fairly well.

Tracy Morgan spent the better part of the past six years pretty much just playing himself, and there’s no reason to believe that streak won’t continue. In fact, he’s doing just that as I write this, embarking on a 50-city stand-up comedy tour. He also has plans for a few more movies up his sleeve, and apparently he’s getting into the commercial game now too. Say, maybe he can be in one of Alec’s Capital One ads, or a Trop50 spot with Jane!

Don’t miss the epic 1-hour series finale of “30 Rock” tonight starting at 8:00 on NBC! Farewell, Liz Lemon!
