TV is like a good friend, always there for you! Just click it on and huddle around the warm glow. Good shows are always worth re-watching. It's like that comfortable soft spot on the couch. So curl up, grab your Snuggie and get down with these TV Holiday Classics!

The Year Without a Santa Claus: A fun look at the inner workings of the North Pole, and what happens when things go wrong! When Santa gets sick, the missus cooks up a plan to save the day; there are elves on a mission and reindeer in disguise, plus musical numbers with the Miser brothers.

Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas: A little known family favorite. My mom loves this Jim Henson classic. Though it gets little air play these days, you can still snag it on DVD or iTunes.

Miracle on 34th Street: I always thought this movie would be so boring. I mean, made in 1947? Black and white? Gag me. Then I watched it, while old-timey and semi-slow by today's standards, it's the perfect way to spend a snow day afternoon with a warm cup of cocoa.

Frosty the Snowman: For a cartoon, Frosty is pretty serious, sappy stuff. As a kid I cried. As an adult, sometimes I still cry at the message; our time together is short, and we have to treasure it. Oh, Frosty, don't go!

Elf: The entire opening of this film can be watched without sound and it still gets laughs. Big Will Ferrell in little elf land = instant comedy. He manages to carry the rest of the film with ease, a favorite scene easily being a fight with a department store Santa.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: You know the story, you know the song, you still watch when it flickers on the screen. Rudolph is a symbol for everybody who ever felt out of place. Yah, it just got real!

A Charlie Brown Christmas: Another life lesson! It's not about the tree, after all, because what matters is at the heart. Also, awesome dance moves.

A Christmas Story: Tell me you didn't try to get somebody's tongue stuck to a poll after watching this as a kid. Sometimes it still works on your dumb friends (hint: try the freezer door).

How the Grinch Stole Christmas: Based on the beloved book and not starring Jim Carey, the classic animated feature includes one of the best holiday characters of all time. You know Who.
