TV is our friend! TV teaches us things, it comforts us with it's warm glow. Maybe I need to get out more. Point is, there's some awfully good stuff out there in 2009. I mean scripted stuff, not trashy, so-called reality show stuff. TV with actors and a point; it's making a comeback!

Best New Show: Glee! Hands down, the greatest thing about Wednesday nights. Ok yes, I really do need to get out more! This quirky high school drama-comedy-musical is a delight that all types, self-professed "gleek" or not, can enjoy.

Airs Wed., 9PM on FOX

Best New Drama: FlashForward. I was hoping to put "˜V' in this place, but it just didn't bring the heat. Dial in to this show for a very "˜Lost'-type mystery that's highly addictive and will keep you guessing.

Airs Thurs., 8PM on ABC

Best New Hottie Fest: The Vampire Diaries. I'm not going to make a bunch of puns about sinking your teeth into these pretty people, hah hah, blah blah. I'm just saying this is the most beautiful new cast on TV, which is worth tuning in for!

Airs Thurs., 8PM on CW

Best New Comedy: Modern Family. So wrong on so many levels, this mockumentary about three "normal" families is a peek at America that pokes fun at all of us.

Airs Wed., 9PM on ABC
