Ben Affleck Teams with Justin Timberlake for Crime Thriller 'Runner, Runner'

After taking somewhat of an on-screen hiatus to be behind the screen directing, Ben Affleck has signed on to star in a drama with fairly new singer-turned-actor, Justin Timberlake.

Back in November, we told you all about Timberlake’s transition to film, playing supporting roles in The Social Network, Bad Teacher, and Friends With Benefits in the past few years.

Well, now, he and Affleck, who has found a burning passion to be a director, have come together to be part of an illegal online gambling drama film titled Runner, Runner.

Brad Furman, Lincoln Lawyer director, will be helming Runner, Runner and has decided to keep information about the film’s plot pretty far under wraps! All we know is that it involves some illegal internet-based poker and other games.

Brian Koppelman and David Levien have written the script, who have seen some similar themes with their work on their 1998 high-stakes poker thriller, Rounders, which featured Edward Norton and Matt Damon.

There has not been word on when shooting will begin since the actors are both so busy! Affleck has been working on post-production for his Oscar-buzzed kidnap thriller, Argo, in which he featured in and directed, while Timberlake has been working with the Coen brothers on their Inside Llewyn Davis and is currently shooting the film Trouble With The Curve alongside Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams.

We can’t wait to see these two star together in such a modern thriller!
