† I was blown away when the 1970's original was rebooted for the FX miniseries back in 2003. It was no surprise that it proved so popular they commissioned it for a regular primetime run. † Over the past four years, the show has continued to gain a massive following, but as with many TV shows - even very good ones - my viewership fell off somewhere along the way. I'm, like, busy and stuff. Being fabulous is time consuming. † Now I'm playing catch up - and if you're not already a fan of the show I highly recommend doing the same! † Here's why: Recently, my upstairs neighbor became obsessed with the series. Thanks to NetFlicks, we spent literally hours and hours catching up on the show. It's still brilliant. But it's coming to an end. Sort of. † Before that happens, let's get caught up in all things BSG so you don't miss out. † The original show hit the tube in '78 and there have been movies, novels, comic books and video games based on the concept. Today's premise is the same: A few thousand people in a remote part of the universe flee into space after their home planet is destroyed by a cybernetic race called the Cylons. † The Battlestar Galactica is the lone military ship that survives the attack. With the BSG leading the way, the small fugitive fleet of survivors race through space in search of a fabled refuge -- known as Earth. † Yah, Earth! Trippy, eh? † Our planet is the stuff of legends to them, yet finding a new home is their only hope of survival. Problem: The evil Cylons want to come party with us here on Earth, too. And the war rages on. † Far beyond creating action with starship battles, this most recent series is focused on the intricate relationships forged under these most dire of circumstances. With a stellar cast (including Mary McDonnell, Edward James Olmos, Lucy Lawless, plus the fierce Katee Sackhoff) there's more drama than The Hills up in there. † The final ten episodes air starting in January, so you've still got time to join the party. † Word. -Wes
