Few artists nowadays truly have their own sense of identity nailed down. It’s easy for some stars to get lost in the hype of trying to be original and find an onstage persona, all for the sake of record sales. And a lot of the times, the result of that is a huge lack of substance.
One singer, though, that has always remained true to his own image, his own sound, and, most importantly, himself is the fairly new U.K. crooner Olly Murs.
Introduced to the world in 2009 after a stint on "The X Factor" singing competition (where he placed second), Murs is an intriguing combination of old school gentleman’s charisma, chic and preppy fashion sense, and a modern day reggae-swing-doowop fusion sound, creating something that is unique and refreshing in the world of pop music.
Not to mention that his classically handsome good looks have girls the whole world over falling in love with not only his music but his delightfully sassy image and the way he is always smiling from ear-to-ear.
Already having released two successful albums in the U.K. -- 2010’s Olly Murs and 2011’s hit follow-up In Case You Didn’t Know (which spawned the hits “Dance With Me Tonight”, “Oh My Goodness”, and “Heart Skips a Beat”) -- Murs is ready to show off his infectious smile and even more catchy, upbeat music with the release of his newest effort, Right Place, Right Time. His first single from the 3rd studio album is the Flo-Rida-supported “Troublemaker”.
Make sure to buy Olly’s upcoming album Right Place, Right Time when it hits U.S. stores on December 4!
