If the lyrics in his latest single “I’m Different” weren’t any indication enough, 2 Chainz, one of today’s biggest and most up-and-coming rappers is, indeed, different, but in a really good way.

 

Born Tauheed Epps in his native town of College Park, Georgia, 2 Chainz has made a name for himself in the rap game, most notably for his delightfully boisterous and flashy style of song, often flaunting what seems to be his favorite thing in the world: foreign top-down cars.

 

But there is more to the Georgia-based rapper than just the addicting and oh-so catchy songs that he releases very prolifically.

 

The former Alabama State University basketball player is also a part of the Kanye West group collaborative G.O.O.D. Music (“Mercy”), and has been featured on many songs with the likes of  Drake (“No Lie”), Nicki Minaj (“Beez In The Trap”), Kendrick Lamar, and A$AP Rocky (“F------ Problems”).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As if having an overly successful slew of songs on the charts and a whole crew of other superstar rapper friends to collaborate and hang with wasn’t enough, 2 Chainz’s most recent release, 2012’s Based On a T.R.U. Story, is nominated at this year's prestigious Grammy Awards for Best Rap Album. What an honor!

 

 

 

We can’t wait to be tuning in to see if 2 Chainz takes home the Grammy, because after the breakout year he has had in the hip-hop scene, he most definitely deserves it.
