If you are a fan of music and are always looking for the hottest new band to come on the scene, look no further than Anberlin. This Florida-reared emo quintet, composed of Stephen Christian (vocals), Joseph Milligan (guitar), Deon Rexroat (bass guitar), Christian McAlhaney (guitar) and Nathan Young (drums), have been steadily working since they signed with Tooth & Nail Records in the summer of 2002, and their hard work is finally paying off with their successful new album, Cities, and a headlining tour across the nation.Anberlin first began to receive critical acclaim with their 2003 debut release, Blueprints for the Black Market, and gained the attention of their peers and fans with their ear pleasing, catchy hooks and shredding guitar lines.

They quickly became the opening act for some of today's top bands, including Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance. In 2005, after traveling to hundred of cities and selling tens of thousands of copies of their debut album, they released their second album, Never Take Friendship Personal. The band collaborated again with producer Aaron Sprinkle, who helped to take the band to a whole new level with their sophomore release. Aaron had never seen the group perform live when he produced their debut album, and upon seeing the intense energy they had while performing, he decided to incorporate that feeling into the music on the second album. The band had also matured while gaining all that experience on the road and they wanted to reflect that with the new songs. Their maturity and intensity are evident from the very first exploding guitar riff of Never Take Friendship Personal, and both the instrument and vocal delivery remain dynamic and highly energized all the way through. The band released their third studio album, Cities, in February, 2007 and it debuted on the Billboard Top 200 chart at #19. Their first single, Godspeed, quickly gained notice and they made their late-night television debut when they performed on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Anberlin followed it up with the release of their second single, The Unwinding Cable Car. While the acclaim for the album continues to grow, the band recently released a music video for the second single and a collection of B-sides and rare songs on a special album titled Lost Songs. Anberlin also announced this fall that they have signed with Universal Republic Records and will release their fourth studio album in mid-2008 under their new label. In support of their third album, the band hit the road once again. However, this time it was different, as the success of their albums have allowed them to become a headlining act. Early this year, they performed on a sold out tour at intimate venues such as New York's Bowery Ballroom. In the summer of 2007, they hit the festival circuit, performing on the famous Vans Warped Tour, and did a handful of shows at several other festivals, ending their run at the Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle. This hard working band didn't quit there though, as they are currently keeping busy with the second leg of their national headlining tour. They will be playing high profile gigs in venues such as The Wiltern in Los Angeles and a two night stand at the House of Blues in Chicago, and will be supported by bands like Motion Picture Soundtrack, Mae and Metro Station.Between their sold out performances, the rising success and rave reviews of their third album and a pending fourth album that is sure to please critics and fans alike, Anberlin is destined to be a mainstay in music for a long time to come. We here at Young Hollywood suggest you take the time to give them a listen! For tour information, merchandise and the latest news on this hot new band, check out www.anberlin.com.
