"American Horror Story" Gets Picked Up for a Second Spooky Season

FX’s wonderfully creepy horror-drama "American Horror Story" has been confirmed for another round.

After premiering on October 5, the show’s numbers have shown that people are watching... and want more. It’s no surprise that the genre is popular, as horror films gross in right under romantic comedies, but it does seem like a particular challenge to get it right for TV. You’ve got to keep the people coming back! "AHS" is proving to have all the right ingredients.

The show takes place in a haunted mansion and includes flashbacks to let us know explicitly what went down. Among the shows aptly casted stars are Dylan McDermott, Connie Britton, and Jessica Lange, and from the first scenes, we’re invested in the characters. There is the right combination of visual interest and story through dialogue to take in from the edge of your seat... and peeking out from behind your fingers! It seems like the hard work of executive producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk is really paying off -- they are also responsible for "Glee"!

(Be sure to check out YH's interview with "AHS"'s own naughty maid, Alexandra Breckenridge!)

"American Horror Story" airs Wednesdays at 10pm on FX.
