Adam Levine seems to be rapidly expanding his resume. We know the 33-year-old as Maroon 5 frontman and for his recent time serving as a judge on reality show "The Voice". Next up? Why, acting, of course!
Technically, he made an appearance on "Beverly Hills 90210" way back in high school with his band at the time, Kara’s Flower, but that aside from that, an upcoming movie seems to be his breakout role.
He is set to make his big screen debut alongside Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, and Hailee Steinfeld in John Carney’s film, Can a Song Save Your Life? The movie is a follow-up to 2006 Oscar-winning film, Once. Once recently hit Broadway took home 8 Tony Awards last week, including Best Musical.
Can a Song Save Your Life? will follow some young lovers on their move to New York as they pursue a career in music, plus, undoubtedly, getting into other shenanigans that round out that type of a journey. Specifically, Levine’s character dumps Knightley to attempt a solo route, which leads toward her encounter of a down-and-out music producer at a bar. Judd Apatow will be executive producing, which brings a lovely sense that the film will be a good one, but also raises questions such as… is it a comedy??
Levine will also be making an appearance on the next season of "American Horror Story" with a several-episode arc.
Don’t worry, music lovers, he’s not totally taking a break; he also has another poppy Maroon 5 album in the works. Reportedly, when the Los Angeles native first performed with his band in junior-high school, he was so shy he played the gig with his back to the audience. Lucky for us he’s outgrown that!
