People are always asking me where they should eat out. Lifestyle Expert and Trend Spotter are cute made-up titles; it's not like a PhD. I don't actually know everything fun in all locations world-wide. So I tell those people the same thing I'm telling you. When I want to eat out, it's like everything else; I go shopping for it online.

Open Table lets people browse through an easily searchable directory to find dining choices. A profile is featured where you can view the menu, see the general pricing, hours of operation and all that basic stuff.

Users give each restaurant an overall rating based on individual scoring in the ratings and reviews section. Also included are usually several pages of comments describing the experience from the patron's point of view. If you're going to sign up, I suggest a couple guidelines for adding your own:

Be descriptive: List the food and drinks that you and others at your table order

Be emotional: One of the best comments about Beso, for example, is that the ambiance of the place made us feel like we were really enjoying a slice of the beautiful Hollywood life.
