Summer is afoot, and that means a few months of relaxation from all the hectic and fast-paced things in life. Who needs school and work when you can just as easily go to the beach every day, barbeque in the backyard, and watch fireworks explode alongside the stars on those perfect vibrant nights?
One of the best ways to spend the hottest months of the year is by taking advantage of the many upcoming summer concert tours! Although it is usually downtime for the vast majority of us, artists like to take advantage of the summer season by kicking it into overdrive as they tour and perform for their fans across the country!
Here’s a quick and easily guide to the 2012 summer concert tour season!
Drake: The Club Paradise Tour
Starting on May 7 in Concord, California, this 27-city tour will feature other young, up-and-coming rappers J. Cole, 2 Chainz, and French Montana. What we’re most excited about is the bevy of hits (and possible special appearances) that will be brought out of the woodwork for this spectacular showcase of the next generation of hip-hop heavyweights.
Big Time Rush: Big Time Summer Tour
You’d think that one hugely popular Nickelodeon TV show and another successful tour earlier this year would keep these four boys (Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Logan Henderson, and Carlos Pena) busy enough. But no, BTR knows how to keep their Rushers happy with another tour scheduled to start in July! Kicking off in Columbus, Ohio, people will get the chance to see BTR perform all of their hit songs from the TV show and more!
One Direction: North American Summer Tour 2012
We can’t get enough of a good boy band, and One Direction’s (who toured with BTR earlier this year on the East Coast) sold-out summer tour will definitely have those in attendance swooning at every lyric of every song in their set. So basically, there will be fangirls swooning and screaming the whole time. Not that we have a problem with that.
Young The Giant: 2011-2012 U.S. Tour
After the success of their tour, which started late last year, the alternative rock band from Irvine, California, has added many new venues and tour dates that will continue on and on into the summer, so there will be many opportunities to revel in the performances of their hits “My Body” and “Cough Syrup”.
Fun.: Summer 2012 Tour
Get ready to sing along to “We Are Young” at the top of your lungs, because Fun. (consisting of Nate Ruess, Andrew Dust, and Jack Antonoff) is going on a whopping 39-date tour! From London to Los Angeles and everywhere in between, make sure to watch the alternative indie band rock the stage.
Madonna: MDNA Tour
That’s right, the Queen of Pop is back on the road again, and although the North American leg of her tour will start at the end of August and continue well into the fall, a lot of buzz is already being made about Madonna’s triumphant return to the stage. If the tour is anything like her epic Super Bowl halftime performance from earlier in the year (and we’re sure it will be even better), fans in attendance are certainly in for a treat. A little of the old classic Madge will mix with her new material to make this a series of shows not to miss.
What concerts and shows are you planning on going to this summer?
